Hello!

Hi, I'm Dan. Welcome to www.danielmathews.info!

I'm a Postdoc / Visiting Assistant Professor in the mathematics department at Boston College.

Are you a student in my MT216 Introduction to Abstract Mathematics class? Looking for course information and resources? Then you should go to my BC site, which is intended for BC-specific material.

Previously, I was a a postdoc in the Laboratoire de Mathématiques Jean Leray, in the mathematics department at the Université de Nantes, France.

In 2009 I completed my Ph.D. in mathematics at Stanford University. If you were redirected here from my old website at the Stanford mathematics department website, please remember this address for future reference!

This website has several pages. It is my personal website; I also have a BC website. There are separate pages on research, teaching and personal details. It is arranged as follows.

  • The home page is this page.
  • The about me page has details about me, including a CV.
  • The teaching page has details about teaching I have done.
  • The research page has details of my mathematical research and publications.
  • The recreation page contains details of my recreations in mathematics. This includes writing comics, recreational articles, and translating papers.
  • I write a lot of other stuff about all sorts of topics when I feel the need or the urge. A lot of this is on the writings page.
  • Random other interests, including lots of links, are on the interests page.
  • I also keep a blog, mostly about human rights and political matters.
